The Senate has confirmed all seven ministerial nominees submitted by President Bola Tinubu for accelerated consideration.
This decision followed the nominees’ screening in the upper chamber on Wednesday, which had been postponed from Tuesday.
During the session, the Senate suspended its rule to allow the nominees’ admittance, starting with Nentawe Yilwatda, nominated to replace Betta Edu as Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
The Senate then screened other appointees, including Bianca Odumegwu-Ojukwu as Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, Maigari Dingyadi as Minister of Labour and Employment, and Jumoke Oduwole as Minister of Industry.

Additional nominees were Idi Maiha for the new Ministry of Livestock Development, Yusuf Ata as Minister of State for Housing and Urban Development, and Suwaiba Ahmad as Minister of State for Education.
Each nominee answered questions on effectively managing their respective ministries, satisfying the Senate, which subsequently confirmed their appointments.
President Tinubu had recently dismissed five ministers, reassigned ten to new roles, and submitted seven new appointments for Senate confirmation.
The dismissed ministers included Uju-Ken Ohanenye (Women Affairs), Lola Ade-John (Tourism), Tahir Mamman (Education), Abdullahi Gwarzo (State, Housing and Urban Development), and Jamila Ibrahim (Youth Development).

In the reassignments, Yusuf Sununu shifted from Minister of State for Education to Minister of State for Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction.
Olatunji Alausa moved from Minister of State for Health to Minister of Education, while Bello Goronyo went from Minister of State for Water Resources and Sanitation to Minister of State for Works.
Abubakar Momoh transitioned from Minister of Niger Delta Development to Minister of Regional Development.
Additional changes included Uba Maigari Ahmadu, reassigned from Minister of State for Steel Development to Minister of State for Regional Development, and Doris Uzoka-Anite, who moved from Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment to Minister of State for Finance, deputizing Wale Edun, the Coordinating Minister of the Economy.
Sports Minister John Enoh was reassigned as Minister of State for Trade and Investment, while Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim became Minister of Women Affairs.
Ayodele Olawande was promoted from Minister of State for Youth Development to Minister of Youth Development, and Iziak Salako shifted from Minister of State for Environment to Minister of State for Health.
