Former Senator, Shehu Sani has reacted to the call for forgiveness from House of Representatives member representing Aba South/North Federal Constituency of Abia State in the National Assembly, Hon. Alex Ikwechegh who assaulted a driver.
The lawmaker pleaded with Nigerians to forgive him over his assault on a Bolt driver.
Hon. Ikwechegh gained notoriety after a video surfaced on social media showing him aggressively confronting a delivery driver who had arrived to drop off a parcel.

In the footage, a visibly angry Ikwechegh is seen berating the driver for asking him to come collect the delivery, using derogatory language throughout the encounter.
He said: “Do you know who I am? the lawmaker was heard saying. Can you imagine this rat, I can make you disappear in Nigeria and nothing will happen.
“I will not even call my police. I will beat you up myself and lock you in my generator house.
“I’ll beat you up and lock you in my generator house. I will make you disappear in the whole of Nigeria. Call IGP, record me,”.

Following public outrage and condemnation, the lawmaker has issued an apology for his actions.
In a statement posted on his social media account, he expressed regret, admitting that his behavior was unacceptable.
Sani took to popular social media platform X to react to the lawmaker’s call for Nigerians to forgive him after assaulting the driver.
He wrote on X: @ShehuSani The Abia Rep asked for forgiveness for his conduct.He should be forgiven.That is the recommendation of all religions.
