AGF Speaks On Alleged Directive Given To Nigerian Workers To Change Salary Accounts

The Accountant-General of the Federation (AGF), Oluwatoyin Madein, has clarified that no directive has been given to workers to change their salary accounts.

“The IPPIS Office has not issued any general directive to this effect as there is no reason to do so,” she said. .

She urged financial institutions to adopt effective strategies to strengthen customer confidence and ensure they can meet their obligations to individuals whose salaries are managed by them.

She highlighted that certain agencies are legally mandated to assess the health and viability of financial institutions, expressing confidence in these agencies’ ability to fulfill their roles.

Additionally, she advised workers with valid reasons to change their salary accounts on the IPPIS platform to adhere to the proper procedures.
