Replace Google with ChatGPT Search in Chrome
OpenAI has made it simple to swap out Google in Chrome by releasing a browser extension that does this automatically.

Alternatively, if you don’t want to make ChatGPT the default, you can set up a shortcut for easier access.
This way, you can type a keyword like “@chat” in Chrome’s address bar, followed by your search query, to use ChatGPT search directly.
To add ChatGPT as a shortcut:
- Open Chrome Settings.
- Go to Search Engine in the left menu.
- Select Manage search engines and site search.
- Under Site Search, click Add.
- Set the name to “ChatGPT”.
- Set the shortcut to “@chatgpt” (or any shortcut you like).

Now, for example, typing “@chatgpt today’s weather in Chicago” in Chrome’s address bar will let you search with ChatGPT, showing “Search with ChatGPT” after you press space.
