Democratic Vice President Kamala Harris and Republican former President Donald Trump are locked in a fierce battle for the White House as polls have nearly closed across the United States early Wednesday. However, vote counting continues in several key states.
So far, US media outlets have projected Trump as the winner in 24 states, including Texas and Ohio, along with crucial battleground states like Georgia and North Carolina, as well as other traditionally Republican-leaning states.
Harris, meanwhile, has won 15 states, including high electoral vote states like California and New York, as well as Washington, D.C.

Currently, Trump holds 243 electoral votes, while Harris has secured 194.
To win the presidency, a candidate needs at least 270 electoral votes. Observers believe the race will likely come down to a few pivotal battleground states.
