President Bola Tinubu has approved the reappointment of Dr. Afis Agboola as Provost and Medical Director of the Federal Neuro-Psychiatric Hospital, Aro, Abeokuta, for a second term of four years.
The Minister of State for Health and Social Welfare, Iziaq Salako, communicated the President’s approval to Dr. Agboola in a letter (Ref. No. PRES/BI/SGF/138/90/MH/B) dated October 24, 2024. Dr. Agboola’s renewed tenure will take effect from July 27, 2024.
The hospital’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Abiola Ajibola, confirmed the reappointment in a statement issued to journalists on Saturday.

In his message of congratulations, the minister urged Dr. Agboola to build on the successes of his first term and exceed the expectations placed on him by the reappointment.
The statement read: “The reappointment of the Provost and Medical Director follows his impressive track record of achievements during the first term of his four-year administration.
“Dr Alausa, while presenting the letter and congratulating the Provost on his reappointment, tasked him with working harder to ensure that the hospital continues to provide quality healthcare and to build upon the successes of his first term.”
