Senator Monday Okpebholo, the newly sworn-in governor of Edo State, has appointed Barrister Musa Ikhilor as the Secretary to the State Government (SGG).
These appointments, made just hours after Okpebholo assumed office on Tuesday, include Dr. Samson Osagie as the State’s Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice, and Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole as Commissioner for Health.
Dr. Cyril Oshiomhole is the son of former Governor Adams Oshiomhole, who currently serves as the Senator representing Edo North in the National Assembly.

The appointments were announced in a press statement signed by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Fred Itua. The statement also noted that the nominations of Osagie and Oshiomhole will be forwarded to the Edo State House of Assembly for confirmation.
Dr. Samson Osagie, the nominee for Attorney-General, is a seasoned legal practitioner, having been called to the Nigerian Bar on March 22, 1995. He currently serves as the vice president of the African Bar Association (West African Region).
