Islamic State militants launched a significant assault on a Nigerian military camp in Kareto, located in Borno State, northern Nigeria, on Saturday.
The attack resulted in fatalities and considerable material losses.
Military sources informed Channels that the Islamic State fighters used a variety of weapons in the assault.

While official casualty figures have yet to be confirmed, reports suggest that around 20 soldiers were killed.
The clash involved intense fighting, including a suicide car bomb, which led to the destruction of a military vehicle and allowed some soldiers to escape.
The attackers seized control of the camp, set it on fire, and destroyed 14 military vehicles.
Additionally, they confiscated four four-wheel drive vehicles and a range of weapons, including heavy machine guns, before retreating to their positions.
In the aftermath, Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum expressed condolences over the soldiers’ deaths in Kareto.
A statement from the Borno State Commissioner for Information and Internal Security, Usman Tar, quoted the governor, who described the attack as a stark reminder of the brutal tactics employed by Boko Haram terrorists.
