Naira Falls By 2.31% At Official Market

The naira depreciated by 2.31% or N38.12 on Monday at the National Autonomous Foreign Exchange Market, closing at N1690.37/$, down from N1652.25/$ the previous week.

Data from FMDQ on Monday revealed that the daily turnover was $173.14 million, reflecting a 42% drop from $296.63 million on Friday.

In the parallel market, the naira strengthened slightly, closing at N1,735 to the dollar, up from N1,740 in the previous session.

As of Friday, the naira had appreciated by 159 basis points against the dollar compared to the prior week, ending at N1652.25/$ to close the week.
