European champions Spain will face the Netherlands in the quarter-finals of the Nations League, while Friday’s draw also set up a clash between Germany and Italy in another last-eight matchup.
Spain are the defending champions, having won the last edition of the Nations League after triumphing over Croatia in a penalty shootout in the final. They were also runners-up in the 2020-21 tournament.
In the other quarter-final ties, France will meet Croatia in a repeat of the 2018 World Cup final, while Portugal will take on Denmark.

The winner of the Spain-Netherlands match will advance to the semi-finals to face either France or Croatia, with Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal potentially awaiting the victor of the Germany-Italy contest in the other semi-final.
Portugal claimed the inaugural Nations League title in 2019, while France lifted the trophy two years later.
The quarter-final ties will be played over two legs from March 20-23 next year. The semi-finals are set for June 4-5, with the final scheduled for June 8 at a venue still to be confirmed.
Meanwhile, Belgium must defeat Ukraine in their play-off to remain in League A, and Scotland will face Euro 2004 champions Greece. Other League A/B play-offs include Turkey vs. Hungary and Austria vs. Serbia.
The Republic of Ireland will play Bulgaria in their bid to stay in League B.
