Leicester City Sack Manager Steve Cooper

Leicester City have parted ways with manager Steve Cooper following a series of poor results, leaving the team just above the Premier League’s relegation zone.

The club also confirmed the departures of assistant manager Alan Tate and first-team coach/analyst Steve Rands.

It said: “Steve, Alan and Steve depart with our thanks for their contribution during their time with the club and with our best wishes for the future.

“Men’s first team training will be overseen by first team coach Ben Dawson, supported by coaches Danny Alcock and Andy Hughes, as the club begins the process of appointing a new manager, which we hope to conclude as soon as possible.”

The newly promoted team has struggled with a winless streak in the league, currently sitting 16th in the standings with just 10 points from 12 matches.

Cooper took charge of the Foxes on a three-year contract, replacing former manager Enzo Maresca just five months ago.

His final match in charge ended in a 2-1 home loss to Maresca’s Chelsea on Saturday.

Cooper becomes the second Premier League manager to be dismissed this season, following Manchester United’s decision to part ways with Erik ten Hag last month.
