As political momentum builds ahead of the 2027 general election, Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s (LP) presidential candidate in the 2023 polls, paid a private visit on Tuesday to the Abuja residence of Abdulsalam Abdulkarim Zaura, a prominent Kano State-born leader in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
Zaura, also known as AA Zaura, was the APC’s candidate for the Kano Central Senatorial District in the 2023 elections and is a key figure in the state’s political landscape.
Obi and Zaura held a closed-door meeting that lasted over an hour, but neither politician disclosed the purpose of their talks.
