Why Raining Curses On Someone Online Is Criminal Offence – FPRO

The Public Relations Officer of the Nigeria Police Force, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has condemned the act of directly cursing individuals online, stating that it amounts to cyberbullying and is punishable by law.

In a post on X.com on Friday, Adejobi emphasized that using harsh and abusive language to target someone online goes beyond the boundaries of free expression or legitimate criticism.

He wrote, “Raining direct curses on someone online is cyberbullying, not expression of freedom or criticism.

“And cyberbullying, which is even different from defamation, is a criminal offence and punishable. Be guided.”
