She was 78 years old and passed away after a brief illness. At the time of her death, she held the title of Iya Adinni of Egbaland.
In a statement, Sheik Iskeel Lawal, the Consultant to the Ogun State Governor on Islamic Affairs, announced her passing and praised her dedication to Islam and her community.

Monsurat Bankole was not only the founder of Al Mönsur Islamic Society but also held the title of Iya Sunnah of Alasalatu Society of Nigeria and West Africa.
Her burial will be held according to Islamic rites immediately following Solatul-Asr prayers on Friday, at her late husband’s residence in Onikoko, Abeokuta.
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun expressed his condolences to Bankole and his family.
In a message issued by his Special Adviser on Media and Strategy, Kayode Akinmade, the governor described the deceased as an extraordinary woman and a devout Muslim, who made significant contributions to her community.
He also highlighted her role as a strong pillar for the Bankole family. Governor Abiodun offered prayers for the repose of her soul and for her family to find strength in their loss.
