Governor Eno Sacks Cabinet Members He Inherited From His Predecessor Udom Emmanuel

After 19 months in office, Governor Umo Eno of Akwa Ibom State has dismissed all the cabinet members he inherited from his predecessor and political mentor, Udom Emmanuel.

He cited the need to usher in a new era for the administration.

It’s worth recalling that upon leaving office on May 29, 2023, former Governor Emmanuel had emphasized the importance of his cabinet members remaining in place to help stabilize the new administration under Governor Eno.

“For me, if you were to be changed based on non-performance, I think none of the commissioners would go, because all of you have delivered, and that’s why the ARISE Agenda has succeeded.

“But we must come to the end of a season, start another season and keep moving,” the governor stressed, and urged the outgone SEC members to continue to be good ambassadors of the state and government, even outside the administration.

It was reported that the governor will soon submit the list of new Commissioner nominees and Special Advisers to the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly for approval, following consultations with elders, leaders, and stakeholders in the state.
