Dalyce Curry, an actress renowned for her roles in Blues Brothers, Lady Sings the Blues, and The Ten Commandments, has sadly passed away at the age of 95.
Her remains were discovered following the destruction of her Altadena home in a wildfire, according to TMZ.
The tragic event occurred during the Eaton Fire, which tore through areas east of Los Angeles, devastating homes and forcing widespread evacuations in Altadena and Pasadena.
Curry’s granddaughter confirmed the news of her passing in an emotional Facebook post.
She shared that she had last seen her grandmother on Tuesday, January 7, after dropping her off at her Altadena home.
That evening, the wildfire began, rapidly spreading and causing extensive damage.
When the granddaughter returned the following day to check on her, police barricades prevented her from accessing the area.
An officer informed her that the property had been destroyed, directing her to a nearby civic center sheltering evacuees.
After a thorough search yielded no information, authorities confirmed on Sunday, January 12, that Dalyce Curry had tragically lost her life in the blaze.
Her death is part of the toll from the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, which have claimed at least 24 lives.
Curry’s legacy in film and the fond memories she leaves behind will endure.
