The Nigerian Police Force (NPF) has shared a video showing a fitness center bearing the name of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun.
The video has elicited reactions from Nigerians who came across the video.
Some wondered why it was named after the current IGP and not after past head of police force or even called the Nigerian Police Force Fitness Center.

The NPF shared the video with their official X handle.
See some reactions below:
@alakowee: Wait, must it be “IGP Kayode Egbetokun fitness centre”? Can’t it just be Nigerian Police fitness centre
@Ev0Ive: What is happening in this country? Everyone in public office is naming properties funded by public money after themselves. We are sinking as a society.
@Ugochuksogboo: Like Tinubu like Egbetokun. Naming public buildings after oneself while still serving is purely CORRUPTION, abuse of power, self-aggrandising and highly unethical.
@bravemoni: Why is the place named after the current IG and not any of the former ones This culture of honoring selfs without allowing the public to do the honours is a big dishonour. You Don’t need to be in hurry to award yourself, impact people and they will honour you in due time.
@primadon:serving police man names a building after himself. All this rubbish will be corrected once the law wakes up in Nigeria.
