Turji has been responsible for violence in Zamfara, Sokoto, Katsina, and other states in the North West.

He was declared wanted by the military in early 2024 and was later labeled a “dead man walking” in December 2024.

Reacting to the reports, the Director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, said, “Please treat all news regarding the arrest of Bello Turji by troops as fake news.”
