JAMB Postpones 2025 UTME Registration, Announce New Date

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has announced that the registration for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) has been postponed until Monday, February 3.

The registration, originally scheduled to start on Friday, January 31, was delayed to allow the Board to make necessary adjustments to its registration templates.

Fabian Benjamin, the Board’s Public Communication Advisor, made this announcement in a statement shared on its official X account on Friday.

Benjamin explained that the delay was caused by the suspension of law programs in some Nigerian universities and the approval of fraudulent facilities as Computer-Based Test (CBT) centers, among other issues.

The examination body apologized for any inconvenience caused to prospective UTME candidates and other stakeholders, assuring them that the registration process would proceed smoothly.

“These adjustments come in light of the recent suspension of certain law programmes at selected universities, as submitted to the Board by the Council for Legal Education.

“Additionally, the Board discovered that some Computer-Based Test (CBT) centres had used deceptive facilities to gain approval, prompting the need for further scrutiny and corrections by disapproving such centres.

“The Board acknowledges the disruption this may cause to candidates and other stakeholders and sincerely apologises for any inconvenience.

“The additional time will be used to ensure that all necessary changes are made for a smooth registration process,” the statement partly read.
