A police constable from the Nigerian Police Force’s Mada Station Division in Nasarawa has shot and killed himself.
Dogara Akolo-Moses, a police constable, was reportedly spotted going about his duties in the Nasarawa Eggon local government area, where the division is located, on the day he committed suicide.

According to a witness, the cop walked into a private room and shot himself, and the sound of the gun alerted all officers on duty, who hurried to the site but saw the corpse lying in a pool of his own blood.
“Colleagues of the deceased who were outside the apartment heard the gunshot, prompting them to rush inside, where they found the officer lying on the floor with his gun beside him” a source said.
As of the time of filing this report, the rationale for the act remained unknown.
On Wednesday, Ramhan Nansel, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Nasarawa State Command, confirmed the horrible occurrence to journalists in Lafia, the state capital, and stated that an inquiry is underway to identify the cause of the officer’s uncontrolled action.
