On Tuesday, the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang, announced a significant reshuffling of his cabinet, which impacted several commissioners.
This change followed the swearing-in of five new commissioners in the state.
As part of the reshuffle, a new ministry was created—the Ministry of Livestock Development, Veterinary Services, and Fisheries.
Former Commissioner for Information and Communication, Musa Ashoms, was reassigned to the Ministry of Youths and Sports Development.

The governor’s statement, signed by the Secretary to the State Government, Samuel Jatau, outlined two major policy shifts intended to enhance governance and development in the state.
One of these changes was the merging of the Ministry of Education (Higher and Secondary) into a single ministry.
Joyce Ramnap, a former Deputy Speaker of the state Assembly, was appointed to head the Ministry of Information and Communication. Other reshuffles included Joshua Ubandoma, the former Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, who was moved to the Ministry of Works; and Dr. Shurkuk Cletus Bako, previously the Commissioner for Health, who was reassigned to the Ministry of Science and Technology.
Additional appointments include Philemon A. Daffi as Commissioner for Justice and Attorney General, Peter L. Gwom for Environment, Climate Change, and Mineral Development, and several others to oversee various sectors such as Agriculture, Finance, Transport, and Women Affairs.
The statement also noted that the affected commissioners were expected to complete their handover by Friday.
Earlier, Governor Mutfwang swore in five new commissioners: Sunday Akpan (Bassa LGA), Joyce Ramnap (Langtang South), Sylvanus Dongtoe (Shendam), Dr. Nicholas Baamlong (Qua’an Pan), and Cornelius Doeyok (Qua’an Pan).
