Famous celebrity native doctor in Anambra State, Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki n’Oba, has been arrested by Agunechemba, a local security group, in Anambra. According to a post on Soludo TV, Akwa Okuko was apprehended in Oba, Idemili South area, on Saturday evening.
The post stated, “Akwa Okuko Tiwaraki n’Oba denies Okeite and has been detained for further investigation by the security agency.”

His arrest follows accusations that he prepares charms for kidnappers who disguise themselves as Yahoo boys, causing terror in the state.
In response to the increasing crime rates, the state government passed the Anambra State Homeland Security Law in 2025.
This new law imposes severe penalties on native doctors who prepare or administer charms, including the notorious ‘Odeshi,’ ‘Okeite,’ and ‘Mkpu Egbe.’
Offenders now face a prison sentence of up to six years, a fine of N20 million, or both under the new regulations.
