Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has explained the purpose of his visit to ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo in Abeokuta, Ogun State, on Monday.
Atiku’s convoy arrived at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) in Abeokuta at precisely 12:36pm, accompanied by political associates.
The former presidential candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) was welcomed by Obasanjo’s ally, Otunba Oyewole Fasawe.

Atiku’s delegation included former governors Liyel Imoke of Cross River State and Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State, as well as Senator Abdul Ningi of Bauchi Central.
According to reports, Atiku went directly into a closed-door meeting with his former boss, which lasted about one and a half hours.
After emerging from the meeting at 2:11pm, Atiku told reporters that his visit was a courtesy call.
Despite repeated questions from the media, Atiku refused to discuss political matters, stating, “It’s just a courtesy visit, please. I am not going to talk about politics.”
Atiku and other opposition leaders have been holding talks regarding the possible formation of a coalition ahead of the 2027 elections.
