A five-member panel of the Supreme Court, led by Justice Uwani Abba-Aji, has rejected the appeal filed by Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, challenging the leadership of the Rivers State House of Assembly under Martin Amaewhule.

In her ruling, Justice Abba-Aji awarded a cost of two million naira against the governor, to be paid to the Rivers State House of Assembly (the first respondent) and Martin Amaewhule (the second respondent).

The appeal was dismissed following the withdrawal of the case by Governor Fubara’s lawyer, Mr. Yusuf Ali.
