Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of the African Action Congress in the 2023 elections, was reportedly attacked on Saturday morning by suspected thugs during the Lagos City Marathon.
Sowore was assaulted alongside members of his media team while participating in the event.

The thugs also targeted several journalists covering the marathon, injuring many of them and damaging their cameras and other equipment.
In a video seen by a source, the thugs were seen physically attacking Sowore, his crew, and the journalists.
One of the thugs was caught on camera grabbing a journalist by the neck while he was holding his camera.
