The Lagos State House of Assembly has suspended its plenary indefinitely following an invasion of the premises by operatives from the State Security Services (SSS) on Monday.
Tensions rose as security personnel, reportedly from the SSS, entered the Assembly and locked the Deputy Speaker’s office before the plenary session began.

This led to a standoff between lawmakers and security officers, with the lawmakers eventually regaining access to the assembly.
During the session, the lawmakers condemned the security breach and passed a vote of confidence in Speaker Mojisola Meranda.
They also resolved to investigate the incident and submit their findings to President Bola Tinubu and the Director General of the SSS, Oluwatosin Ajayi.
