A yet-to-be-identified police officer and his wife killed each other in Ado-Ekiti, the capital of Ekiti State, following an unresolved quarrel.
The event took place on Tuesday in the Ita-Eku region of Ado-Ekiti’s Igirigiri Road.
According to a reliable source in the neighbourhood, the guy known as Caleb had a quarrel with his wife, Tate, after accusing her husband of adultery and extramarital affairs.
According to reports, the woman abruptly attacked the victim and severed his manhood.
The police officer, an Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP), reacted quickly by assaulting the woman with a match.
He allegedly shattered the woman’s head, face, and other areas of her body with the cutlass.
According to the source, the couple died later after the incident, and their bodies were deposited at an unnamed hospital’s mortuary.
The late cop was supposedly in his second marriage, which tragically ended his life. When approached, Police Public Relations Officer, Ekiti State Command, SP. Sunday Abutu acknowledged the incident, adding it was under investigation.
