Mojisola Meranda, the Speaker of the Lagos State House of Assembly, has dismissed rumors that she has resigned.
Her Chief Press Secretary, Segun Ajiboye, refuted the claim on Wednesday, stating, “I’m in the office. The speaker is in the office. I don’t know where that is coming from,” during a conversation with PUNCH.

Earlier, an online report claimed that the Speaker had stepped down, and a circular dated February 17, 2025, supposedly issued by Meranda, had been circulating for two days, suggesting her resignation.
However, an investigation revealed that the letter circulating on social media was unsigned.
The Lagos Assembly has been experiencing a leadership crisis following the removal of the former Speaker, Mudashiru, by a majority of the lawmakers.
