The verbal tussle between Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central, and Senate President Godswill Akpabio took a new twist on Saturday as her husband, Chief Emmanuel Uduaghan, called on Akpabio to treat his wife with the respect and dignity she deserves.
Uduaghan, the Alema of Warri Kingdom, stated in a press release issued in Warri, Delta State, that he had initially chosen to stay silent on the matter but felt compelled to speak out due to recent developments.
“I would never trade her for anything, as she is the greatest joy of my life,” he stated.

He voiced concern over the emotions being stirred by the issue, stating that they were diverting attention from the core matters at hand.
“Without prejudice to the ongoing legal proceedings, I wish to emphasize that my wife was duly elected by her people due to the immense love, respect, and confidence they have in her.
“She is committed to delivering quality representation to her district and the nation at large,” he said.
Uduaghan portrayed Natasha as a dedicated wife and a person of integrity, even in challenging situations.
He revealed that she had shared details of her encounters with the Senate President, whom he regarded as a family friend.
“In response, I approached the matter with utmost maturity and responsibility. As a traditional leader who upholds family values and respects constituted authority, I sought to foster peace and harmony,” he said.
He stated that he had personally met with Akpabio, advising him to show his wife the respect and courtesy she deserves while also upholding their friendship.
He added that both parties had mutually agreed to settle the matter peacefully.
“However, despite this agreement, my wife continues to express concerns about the harassment she has endured from the Senate President,” Uduaghan added.
He reiterated his strong confidence in his wife’s loyalty and their marriage, calling on the Senate and Akpabio to accord Natasha the respect she deserves while the appropriate authorities and the court handle the core issues.
