Senate President Godswill Akpabio recently revealed that he spent the night at the Dangote Cement factory in Obajana, Kogi State, on the wedding day of Kogi Central Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan.
Speaking during Thursday’s plenary session at the National Assembly, Akpabio, a former Minister of the Niger Delta, explained that Natasha’s husband is a close friend of his. He emphasized that his presence at the wedding reflected his close relationship with the family.
He stated, “I spent the night at the Dangote cement factory in Obajana, Kogi State, on the night of Senator Natasha’s wedding because the lights at the Kogi airport were in poor condition.”

The Senate Committee on Ethics, Privileges, and Public Petitions had earlier recommended a six-month suspension for Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan.
The committee also advised that the Kogi lawmaker apologize to the Senate for showing “disrespect” to the institution.
During her suspension, the committee recommended the withdrawal of her salary and security details, and she was instructed to stay away from the National Assembly.
Following the committee’s recommendation, the Senate adopted the resolution, and the Senate President officially announced the suspension of Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan.
