The Atiku Media office has clarified that former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar has no plans to leave the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) for another party.
In a statement released on Saturday in Abuja, the office dismissed rumors of his defection as unfounded and illogical.
The statement reiterated that Abubakar remains a dedicated and active member of the PDP.
“We have observed that some platforms are spreading unverified claims about Abubakar leaving the PDP,” the statement said.

The office further emphasized that these reports of his defection are completely baseless.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, Abubakar has repeatedly called for a coalition of opposition parties ahead of the 2027 elections.
His goal for this coalition is to challenge the All Progressives Congress (APC) and provide Nigerians with a new political direction in 2027.
Abubakar is advocating for a broad coalition that includes the PDP.
The Atiku Media office confirmed that the claim of Abubakar leaving the PDP is false and contradicts his ongoing efforts to unite the opposition.
The office also stressed that these claims are an attempt to mislead Nigerians about the importance of the coalition in rescuing the country from APC rule.
