Wike Reacts Strongly To Fubara’s Letter To Rivers Assembly Over Supreme Court Verdict

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has dismissed as “useless” the letter sent by Governor Siminalayi Fubara to the Rivers State House of Assembly, seeking a meeting with the lawmakers regarding the implementation of the Supreme Court’s verdict on the state’s political matters.

Wike, the former governor of the oil-rich South-South state, made this statement on Wednesday during a conversation with journalists in Abuja.

The influential member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) emphasized that Speaker Martins Amaewhule and other members of the Rivers Assembly are not Fubara’s subordinates and should be treated with respect.

Wike suggested that instead of sending a public letter to invite the lawmakers, Fubara should have personally called Amaewhule and his team to set up a meeting at a mutually agreed time and date.
