Fubara’s Whereabouts Unknown As Military Moves Trucks Into Rivers Government House [VIDEO]

The whereabouts of Governor Siminalayi Fubara remained unknown on Tuesday night as the military deployed trucks to Rivers Government House in Port Harcourt.

The trucks were stationed both inside and outside the Government House on the first night of the state of emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu.

Tinubu imposed emergency rule following attacks on oil installations in Rivers State.

Some militant groups had warned they would destroy pipelines if the state House of Assembly proceeded with Fubara’s impeachment.

Hours after lawmakers issued the governor a misconduct notice, the militants followed through on their threat.

In response, Tinubu suspended both Fubara and the lawmakers for six months and appointed an administrator for the state.

Following the announcement, around 10 military trucks patrolled the road leading to the Government House main gate, while armored vehicles were positioned strategically along the route.

The usually busy road from the UTC Junction to Government House was largely deserted as residents hurried home.

A Port Harcourt resident, speaking anonymously, confirmed that military trucks had been deployed throughout the area.

“The road leading to Government House from the Issac Boro park to the popular UTC is deserted. Residents are making efforts to get back to their respective homes as nobody wants to be caught in a cross fire. I saw about 10 military trucks parading the road leading to Government House. There are other armoured tanks that have been stationed at both entrance road leading to Government House,” the sources said.
