It’s Shocking Tinubu Sacked Fubara And Left Wike Who Is The Principal Actor – Rivers Government

The Rivers State Government is surprised by President Tinubu’s decision to remove Governor Fubara while leaving Minister Wike, who is accused of instigating the state’s political crisis, untouched.

Information Commissioner Joe Johnson called the move unjust, highlighting Fubara’s commitment to constitutional order and good governance despite political turmoil.

Johnson emphasized Fubara’s focus on protecting lives and property and ensuring the state’s progress.

He noted Fubara’s adherence to constitutional duties and prioritizing public interest.

The government implemented peace agreement terms, including reinstating resigned commissioners, and promptly complied with a Supreme Court ruling.

However, Johnson stated that lawmakers loyal to Wike continued to disrupt peace, and expressed astonishment that Fubara was removed while Wike, considered the main driver of the crisis, remained in his position.

“It is shocking that Mr. President sacked the governor and left his minister, who is the principal actor,” Johnson stated.

The commissioner reassured Rivers State residents that governance continues despite political difficulties, highlighting ongoing salary payments, development projects, and state security.

The government urged citizens to maintain peace and abide by the law, while reaffirming its commitment to working with all necessary institutions to preserve democracy and ensure the state’s continued progress.

“We have always been a resilient people, and we will face this situation with wisdom, patience, and unwavering faith in the democratic process,” Johnson added.

The Rivers State Government has affirmed that it will remain focused on the welfare and success of its people as it manages the evolving political circumstances.
