PDP governors have decided to legally challenge the state of emergency declared by President Bola Tinubu in Rivers State.
The PDP Governors Forum, after a virtual meeting, instructed their attorneys general to initiate legal action against the emergency declaration, which they believe is politically motivated.
In a communique, the governors stated their commitment to upholding the Constitution, defending democratic governance, and ensuring the rule of law.

They resolved to instruct their attorneys general in PDP-controlled states to challenge Section 305 (3) of the Nigerian Constitution, as amended, and seek judicial interpretation.
They also reaffirmed their support for Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the people of Rivers State.
The governors characterized the emergency declaration as a significant threat to Nigerian democracy.
