Soyinka Reacts To Tinubu’s Declaration Of State Of Emergency In Rivers [VIDEO]

Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, has criticized President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State, deeming the action excessive in an interview on Channels Television.

President Tinubu declared emergency rule in the state on Tuesday, citing political crisis and instability, and subsequently suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his deputy, and the state’s assembly members for six months.

He then appointed Ibok-Ete Ibas as the state’s sole administrator.
