Natasha Makes Fresh Revelations On Her Recall

Suspended Senator from Kogi Central, Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, has accused Senate President Godswill Akpabio and former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello of orchestrating the recall process against her, claiming they used fake constituents to further their agenda.

She questioned how a Senate President could lower himself to collaborate with one of the EFCC’s most wanted individuals against a sitting Senator for personal gain.

In a statement released to the press on Wednesday in Abuja, Senator Natasha expressed gratitude to her constituents and Nigerians who warmly welcomed her despite the intimidation they faced.

She assured them that she would not disappoint them.

On Tuesday, supporters from all five local government areas of Kogi Central gathered in Ihima, Okehi LGA, to greet the PDP lawmaker.

Despite a ban on rallies and processions imposed by the Kogi State government, Natasha was greeted with a strong show of support.

The Senator also challenged former Governor Bello to explain where he had fabricated the names of the fake constituents calling for her recall.

She emphasized that all evidence pointed to Bello as the mastermind behind the recall effort.

Natasha linked this attempt to Bello’s previous actions, including his alleged involvement in orchestrating attacks against her during the 2023 elections when she was a senatorial candidate.

She described the recall effort as a continuation of Bello’s political grudge against her.

She said: “I will advise the former governor to rather focus on clearing his name over allegations of fraudulent diversion of N89.2 billion, instead of attempting to destabilize the mandate given to me by the people of Kogi Central.

“The former governor’s hands are already full with corruption allegations, yet he is still bent on frustrating the will of the people. His actions before and during the last general elections, where he sponsored numerous attacks against me, are well documented. This recall attempt is nothing but another ploy to undermine the people’s will,” the statement read.

She added: “It is now very clear to the whole world how popular I am in my constituency. The powers that be did try to suppress the will of the people but my people emphatically said no. No to injustice, no to operation of women, no to fake recall, no to Yahaya Bello and his allies.

“They (My people) came out enmass to resist government intimidations. We thank them for the massive show of love. We also thank our oppressors because their actions have now made them more unpopular while we gained more support.”

“As more me, I will do more for my people. I will not betray them. I will continue to give my best and they should be rest assure of our best representation all the time,” Natasha stated.
