Protest Announced Against Tinubu’s Suspension Of Fubara, State House Of Assembly In Rivers

The Niger Delta Congress (NDC) has organized a peaceful protest for April 7, 2025, at Isaac Boro Park, starting at 7:00 AM, to oppose the suspension of Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the State House of Assembly.

The group aims to push for the return of democratic rule in the state.

In their April 3rd statement, the NDC criticized the state of emergency declaration and the suspension of elected officials, viewing it as an assault on Rivers State’s democracy and its people.

Mudlaga Ogboru, the NDC’s National Spokesperson, stated that these actions disregard the public’s choice and threaten the Niger Delta’s stability.

The NDC is calling for citizens to participate in the protest peacefully and legally, stressing the importance of unity and justice.

The ongoing political turmoil in Rivers State has sparked considerable debate, particularly regarding the legality and reasons behind the suspension of government bodies.

The demonstration in Port Harcourt next Monday will be closely watched.
