Nyesom Wike, the FCT minister, refuted online reports that he collapsed last week, attributing the rumors to political opportunists.
He made this statement after inspecting several construction projects in the FCT, including the International Conference Centre.
He said, “I don’t want to give credence to people who are only interested in carrying rumour. First of all, I’m a human being, it’s not a ghost that will collapse, it’s a human being that will collapse if there is any issue with their health. Unfortunately, I did not collapse.”

Social media rumors on X claimed that FCT Minister Nyesom Wike collapsed at an Abuja event last Friday and was hospitalized.
However, Wike later appeared healthy and in good spirits at a Sallah visit to President Tinubu, dismissing the rumors.
His media aide, Lere Olayinka, had already denied the claims, asserting they were untrue.
