Suleman Omika, the All Progressives Congress (APC) Zonal Chairman for Kogi East, has died.
Omika, who had recently taken over the position, passed away suddenly on Friday, surprising his political colleagues, friends, family, and supporters.
The state APC chairman, Abdullahi Bello, confirmed the news, stating that the Deputy Governor, Joel Oyibo, had informed him of Omika’s passing.
A family member reported that Omika was resting at his home in Lokoja when he suddenly became weak and died.

Kogi State Deputy Governor Joel Salifu expressed his shock and sadness at Omika’s unexpected death, describing him as a dedicated and valuable member who significantly contributed to the APC’s progress in the Kogi East zone.
The Deputy Governor noted that Omika’s absence would be deeply felt and acknowledged his contributions to the state’s development.
Born on October 1, 1980, in Dekina Local Government Area of Kogi State, Omika’s passing is a significant loss to the APC in the region.
