Tinubu Reacts As Former Governor Dies

President Bola Tinubu has conveyed his profound sadness regarding the death of Dr. Victor Omololu Olunloyo, former governor of the old Oyo State.

Tinubu remembered him as a highly intelligent scholar and respected elder statesman whose influence will continue to be felt in Nigeria’s academic and political spheres.

In a statement released on Sunday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu offered his condolences to the people and government of Oyo State, the Olunloyo family, and all who admired the late governor.

President Tinubu also acknowledged Olunloyo’s brief period as governor, praising his visionary leadership, even though his tenure was cut short by a military coup.

He further commended Olunloyo’s commitment to national unity and intellectual progress, describing his life’s work as a lasting legacy in Nigeria’s history.

Tinubu concluded by praying for Olunloyo’s eternal rest and offering comfort to those mourning his loss.
