Portable Sent To Prison

Controversial singer Okikiola Badmus, widely known as Portable, has been sent to the Oke Kura Correctional Centre in Ilorin, the capital of Kwara State.

This is because he was unable to fulfill the strict bail requirements set by an Upper Area Court in the state.

Portable’s court appearance on Monday was in response to defamation charges brought against him by veteran Fuji musician Akorede Saheed, also known as Saheed Osupa.

The “zazoo-zeh” singer was granted bail for N1 million, subject to several demanding conditions, including providing two sureties who would each post the same amount.

The court specified that one surety must be either the Chairman or Secretary of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, while the other must own property within a Government Reserved Area in Ilorin and provide a valid Certificate of Occupancy.
