After multiple delays, the meeting between the House of Representatives ad hoc committee on Rivers State and the state’s Sole Administrator, Retired Vice Admiral Ibok Ete Ibas, is now underway.
The House of Representatives is exercising its constitutional authority to assume the functions of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

Ibas apologized for his absence at previous meetings and requested more time to prepare for briefing the committee.
He explained that he is still adjusting to his new position and asked for the committee’s understanding.
Following his request, journalists were asked to leave, and the meeting continued in a closed-door session.
