Pastor Abioye Starts New Church After Retirement From Winners Chapel

Pastor David Abioye, following his retirement from Bishop David Oyedepo’s Living Faith Church (Winners Chapel) in October 2024, has started his own church.

Abioye, who was a vice president at Winners Chapel, announced on his X account on Monday evening that his new church will begin holding Sunday morning services at 8:00 AM, starting on May 4th.

In his X post, he shared, “Exciting news! By the grace of God, starting next Sunday, our service is moving to the morning, 8:00am. It’s a new day for you — come ready to be blessed mightily in Jesus’ name. Mark your calendars, set your alarms — we can’t wait to see you there! Tag someone you’re inviting!”

Abioye’s retirement from Winners Chapel, along with Thomas Aremu, occurred after the church implemented a new leadership policy setting the retirement age at 55.

At the time, Abioye was 63 and Aremu was 67.

After retiring, Abioye initially established a non-denominational ministry with Sunday evening services. However, on April 27th, he announced the shift to Sunday morning services starting at 8:00 AM.

He conveyed this update, saying, “Very important information. From next Sunday by the grace of God, our service is migrating to morning. Hallelujah. And the time is 8am. God bless you mightily in Jesus’ name.”
