Tinubu Redeploys Federal Permanent Secretaries

President Bola Tinubu has authorized the reassignment of four Federal Permanent Secretaries as part of an effort to improve performance and service delivery within the Federal Civil Service.

Mrs. Esther Walson-Jack, the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation (HCSF), announced the redeployments in a statement released by Mrs. Eno Olotu, Director of Information and Public Relations, in Abuja on Tuesday.

Walson-Jack stated that the redeployment aims to enhance operational efficiency, encourage innovation, and align the civil service with the current administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

The affected Permanent Secretaries and their new assignments are:

  • Dr. Mary Ogbe: From the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development to the Ministry of Regional Development.
  • Faruk Yabo: From the Ministry of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy to the Ministry of Solid Minerals Development.
  • Dr. Emeka Obi: From the Ministry of Budget and Economic Development to the Ministry of Petroleum Resources.
  • Mr. Ogbodo Nnam: From the Special Duties Office in the Office of the HCSF to the Ministry of Information and National Orientation.

The Head of Service described the redeployment as a standard administrative procedure designed to revitalize the civil service by placing senior officials in key areas.

She urged the Permanent Secretaries to apply their experience in their new roles and ensure efficient and smooth service delivery.

She also stated that all handover and takeover procedures must be completed by May 2nd.

Walson-Jack reaffirmed the Federal Government’s dedication to creating a top-tier civil service that promotes professionalism and drives national development.
