Abure-LP Takes Action On Otti, Others Over ‘Anti-Party’ Activities

The Julius Abure-led faction of the Labour Party has established a disciplinary committee to probe allegations of anti-party actions against Abia State Governor Alex Otti and other members accused of misconduct.

This decision was announced by the party’s National Executive Council (NEC) on Friday during a press briefing following their NEC meeting.

The NEC stated that they had reviewed the alleged anti-party activities of Governor Alex Otti and other members and, as a result, formed the disciplinary committee.

The committee, headed by Ayo Olorunfemi, has been given two weeks to present its findings.

The Abure-led NEC also expressed satisfaction with the Supreme Court’s ruling on the party’s leadership dispute, stating that it clarifies the issue.

Furthermore, the NEC commended the National Working Committee under Abure’s leadership and affirmed that the Labour Party would not participate in any coalition or merger for the 2027 general elections, asserting that it would not relinquish its leadership under any circumstances.
