APC Chairman Abducted

Gunmen suspected of being kidnappers have abducted Nelson Adepoyigi, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ose Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Adepoyigi, who serves as the APC chairman for Ifon Ward 5 within the Ose Local Government, was reportedly kidnapped along the Benin-Ifon-Owo expressway on Monday evening.

The Ondo State Police Command’s spokesperson, DSP Olushola Ayanlade, confirmed the incident in a statement on Tuesday, stating that a manhunt has been initiated to apprehend the perpetrators.

He said, “I can confirm to you that the chairman of APC ward 5 was kidnapped at the entrance of his farm along Ifon-Owo Road.”

“At the receipt of the report, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO), Ifon, in collaboration with hunters, VGN and Nigeria Army personnel, launched a manhunt for the suspect(s),” he added.

Ayanlade urged anyone with information that could assist in the rescue operation to come forward and advised residents to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities.
