APC Suspends Ex-Reps Member, Nine Party Officials

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kebbi State has suspended a former member of the House of Representatives for the Koko/Maiyama Federal Constituency, Muhammad Shehu Koko, along with nine other party officials in the Koko Local Government Area.

Among those also suspended are Muhammad Danyado, the APC Vice Chairman of Koko LGA; Biyaminu Muhammad, the Secretary; and Talatu Zauro, the Women Leader, along with the youth leader, financial secretary, welfare secretary, and several other party officials.

According to a suspension letter, the suspensions were due to alleged anti-party activities, disloyalty, and harassment of the party’s executive members.

The letter was reportedly signed jointly by the APC chairman in the local government, Muhammad Maibarga, the local government executive chairman, Sirajo Usman Koko, and 14 other party stakeholders in the area.

Associates of the former lawmaker informed Channels Television that they were not authorized to speak on his behalf but suggested that the suspension might be related to his rumored intention to run for a senatorial seat, which has allegedly caused unease among some influential figures within the Kebbi State APC.

In other news from Kebbi State, the government has announced the release of over ₦266 million for the tuition fees of 100 Kebbi students studying in India.

The State Commissioner for Higher Education, Isah Tunga, represented by the Permanent Secretary of the ministry, Hussaini Tata, conveyed this during a press conference in Birnin Kebbi, highlighting the governor’s efforts to advance education in the state.
