The Senate has established a planning committee to organize a significant summit focused on national security, with the goal of tackling Nigeria’s increasing security issues.
The committee will be led by the Senate Leader, Senator Opeyemi Bamidele, as Chairman, and Senator Yahaya Abdullahi as Deputy Chairman.

They are tasked with convening the summit and submitting their report within a two-week timeframe.
Other members of this committee include Senators Ireti Kingibe, Idiat Oluranti, Mpigi Barinada, Babangida Hussaini, Jimoh Ibrahim, Isah Jibrin, Osita Ngwu, Mohammed Tahir Monguno, Titus Zam, Ahmad Lawan, Abdulaziz Yaradua, Gbenga Daniel, Austin Akobundu, Buba Shehu Umar, Abdulhamid Malam Madori, Emmanuel Udende, Adams Oshiomhole, and Saliu Afolabi.
The upcoming summit aims to gather key figures involved in Nigeria’s security framework to create a unified and long-term strategy for addressing insecurity throughout the nation.
