Malami Speaks Amid Political Speculation

Former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, has urged his supporters in Kebbi State to avoid making political statements that could increase tension in the region.

In a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Mohammed Doka, Malami specifically cautioned musicians, influencers, and political supporters against using abusive language, mockery, or direct attacks on others, emphasizing that such behavior is unacceptable.

“I want to appeal to our teeming supporters to focus on issue-based discourse when engaging the public. Their statements should be constructive, not ones that could undermine our democracy and the unity of Nigeria,” Malami was quoted as saying.

Doka portrayed Malami as a peace-loving and law-abiding citizen who would not endorse any actions or comments that could jeopardize the peace in Kebbi State.

Speculation has been rife in Kebbi about Malami’s potential return to active politics, with suggestions that he might challenge the current governor, Nasir Idris, in the next election.

Although Malami played a key role in the governor’s rise to power, they are now perceived as political rivals.

Recently, some musicians and social media influencers loyal to Malami had begun using offensive language and veiled online attacks, prompting Malami to issue this warning.
